李可染(1907年3月26日-1989年12月5日)，江苏徐州人。中国近代杰出的画家、诗人，画家齐白石的弟子。李可染自幼即喜绘画，13岁时学画山水。43岁任中央美术学院教授，49岁为变革山水画，行程数万里旅行写生。72岁任中国美术家协会副主席、中国画研究院院长。
李可染的山水画重视意象的凝聚。从单纯到丰富，再由丰富归之于单纯。他的山水作品还留有朱耷、董其昌的影子，清疏简淡，是一种线性笔墨结构。借助于写生塑造新的山水意象，由线性笔墨结构变为团块性笔墨结构，以墨为主，整体单纯而内中丰富，浓重浑厚，深邃茂密。
