此圖正是傅抱石於1943年作於重慶西郊的金剛坡下的一幅佳作。題識：“松下會友。癸未立秋後寫於重慶西郊山齋。銘渠老伯大人誨政。愚再晚傅抱石”。銘渠老伯即張家鳳，字銘渠，江寧人。其子張道藩（1897-1968），是民國時期的著名政治人物，亦通曉藝術理論，富學識，時與傅氏為同僚，彼此談畫論藝，交契頗深。由此亦可想見彼時傅氏交宜的歷史情形。藝術大師的人文情懷，畫一松蒼渾奇古，以大筆揮出，似不經意處，但見元氣渾含，妙造自然，酣暢淋漓，豪放灑脫，而又博中有約，放中得收，直見自家面目。傅氏人物畫遠追晉唐，深研陳老蓮精蘊之處，探得驪珠，炫耀世間。圖中四老者，行曕顧盼，言談博洽之姿，衣帶悉索之聲，儼然魏晉人風度神韻。畫面粗細、虛實、疏密。對比分明而又渾然一體。極有極高的收藏價值！
