本品梅瓶带盖，小口圆唇，颈短细，丰肩，弧腹修长渐收，近底微撇，器形挺拔俊秀，线条柔美起伏，尽见迤逦之姿。造型俊秀，胎质细腻，施明丽的珊瑚红釉，红似朝霞，淡恬文静，赏心悦目。底施白釉，正中双圈内落「大明成化年制」六字三行楷书款。
主题纹饰暗刻龙纹图。所见龙横空而出，穿腾于中，遒健凶猛，气夺千里，神姿威武，王者之气激荡其中，予人鉴阅之际顿生敬畏之心。其红釉发色苍妍夺目，犹若水墨般淋漓尽致，其胎釉之精良，如玉之莹润，彰显出非凡之丽质，诚为佳瓷名器。梅瓶为历代瓷器造型中格调最为高雅的重要器型之一，自宋元以来，价值品质都高于同侪。
成化朝之红釉暗刻龙纹御窑本极为罕有，而梅瓶之型陈设器物便是为凤毛麟角。
